Discovering Nougats Silvain, artisans of taste in Saint-Didier
At Le Moulin de César, we like to highlight local know-how. Our emblematic partners include Nougats Silvain located in Saint-Didier, in the heart of the Vaucluse region.
This family adventure began in 1985, when Pierre and Philippe Silvain, passionate farmers, decided to diversify their business by making nougat according to their grandmother Henriette’s recipe, with honey and almonds from their own farm. It wasn’t long before the quality and authenticity of their creations won them over far beyond local festivals.
Faithful to the spirit of craftsmanship and complete mastery of their production, the Silvains have developed a varied range over the years: traditional or original nougats (saffron, cranberry, speculoos…), calissons, cookies, fruit jellies, honeys, almonds… but also energy bars called L’Endurante, prized by sports enthusiasts for their natural, gourmet composition, available in sweet or savory versions.
Their commitment to sustainable agriculture and short distribution channels is reflected in the “Paysans-Nougatiers” approach, which federates local producers and peasant know-how. This commitment has earned them the prestigious Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label, as well as “Valeurs Parc” recognition from the Parc Naturel Régional du Ventoux, testifying to their attachment to the terroir and respect for the environment.
Today, the new generation continues the story with the same passion, combining tradition and innovation to offer the best of Provence in every bite.
When you visit Moulin de César, take the time to discover these sweet treats and savour a true concentrate of Provençal terroir.
