Mont Ventoux, a giant of nature to discover
Nicknamed the “Giant of Provence”, Mont Ventoux dominates the region from the top of its 1,909m, offering spectacular panoramic views. Classified as a Regional Nature Park in 2020, it is a veritable treasure trove of biodiversity and a mecca for sustainable tourism.
A mountain with a thousand faces
Mont Ventoux is a land of contrasts. Its sun-drenched southern slopes are home to vineyards, lavender fields and typical Provencal villages. Its wilder northern slope is covered with deep forests and vast meadows. At the summit, a lunar landscape stretches as far as the eye can see, offering a unique panorama of the Rhône valley, the Alps and the Mediterranean.
The area is also a haven for exceptional flora and fauna: golden eagles, chamois and juniper thrive in a preserved ecosystem.
However, some areas are protected or inaccessible, such as the Gorges du Toulourenc. You can find out more about these areas and their recommendations on the Provence guide website .
