At the foot of Mont Ventoux, in Puyméras, lies the collective estate of the Cave la Comtadine. This cooperative was born in 1930 from the desire of twelve winegrowing families to pool their know-how.

Today, the winery brings together over 220 families cultivating more than 1,300 hectares spread over some twenty villages in the Drôme and Vaucluse terroirs.

The appellations producedCôtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Ventoux, Côtes du Rhône Villages Puyméras, IGP Coteaux des Baronnies – reveal the richness and diversity of the soils, exposures and microclimates of this winegrowing region.

What sets La Comtadine apart is its subtle blend of tradition and dynamism: offering balanced, structured wines imbued with authenticity. It is also keen to open up to new approaches (organic wines, sulfite-free cuvées, vegan range).

When the vine resonates at our table: tasting at Moulin de César

What makes our partnership so valuable is the opportunity to let our guests taste the wines of the Comtadine during their meals at the Moulin de César. While dining on our patio, our guests can discover a vintage sourced directly from a neighboring terroir. This direct link between the wine and the land enriches the gastronomic experience.

Imagine a dish from Provence — for example, lamb with Nyons olives and herbs from Provence — accompanied by a glass of Côtes du Rhône AOP red wine. The gustatory pleasure is amplified: each sip evokes the wind, the sun, the terroir.

Beyond the tasting, we encourage our guests to visit the cellar, discover the behind-the-scenes aspects of wine, the vineyards, and the winemaking processes. La Comtadine propose des visites de cave (sur rendez-vous) que nous pouvons organiser pour vous.

A deep-rooted partnership: terroir, sharing and authenticity

This partnership between Moulin de César and Cave la Comtadine is in line with our values: paying tribute to the landscape, to local identity, to the work of local men and women. To offer these wines to our guests is to offer a piece of Provencal heritage to share.

Through this collaboration, our customers are not simply observers: they become players in the sensory journey, discovering the life of a wine from the vine to the table. This direct link between accommodation, gastronomy and terroir is a cornerstone of the experience we aim to offer at Le Moulin de César.
